Resurfacing the yard

We’ve been having our yard resurfaced today and we're all finding it rather exciting.

It might not seem like much to get excited about, but in the 17 years we’ve lived here the yard has always been a working area, with sheep, chickens, dogs and muddy boots being traipsed through it every day. Now it’s being transformed into a country-manor yard, with gravel, decking, built-in flower beds and the like.

Anyway, mid-way through the day I climbed up on to our roof and took about thirty photos of the work in progress, then mashed them together into a montage.

    I'm taking the pics using a Canon EOS D10 and then putting them together using Photoshop 7. That file came to about 600MB as I wanted to use the original images in case I ever printed it out.

    It's easy enough to do, just ensure you take enough photos at the time to cover every angle, then rougly put them all together in one PS document. You'll find at the end that lots of your photos are redendant since others overlap them, but a bit of hiding and showing layers soon lets you choose the best look.
