I'll be honest. I don't like this one.

I don't like it because you can hardly see any of the dog's features, just a silhouette. Maybe it would be nicer a bit closer up, but still with the lovely backdrop of the sea.

Would it have been better taken in landscape format?

I happen to like it for it's lack of doggy-detail :o)

Um... maybe. But little dogs run very quickly, and I only had this one chance for a shot.

I still think it works, but then maybe that's because I was there, and can project what I saw into the photo more than you guys? Who knows...

I like it. Portrait format works, I think, because it emphasizes li'l doggy vs. great big ocean. Love the colours, too, of sky/sea/surf/sand.

I went to stinson beach when I was in the 10th grade, 7 years ago. It was one of the finest beaches/places I've ever been to.

When do we get to see the average-size dog on Stinson Beach?

What's the water temperature like, Dunstan? Looks gorgeous (especially from a rainy parisian afternoon)!

It is weird seeing those pictures from Stinson beach. Stinson Beach was the first beach I was on in America.. The first beach where I could paddle around in the cold water from the pacific.. It brings back memories! :)

The picture lacks details, but I still like the "happy"-running and the reflection in the water. The dog looks happy and behind it you can see those big waves.. It's just a nice contrast I think..

Poodles can't be abstracted enough. My 2 cents.

What a gorgeous little pooch! Looks like she/he walking on air. Looking at the water reflection, it barely connects. =) Very nice composition after all.
