Caterpillar, clitoris, butterfly

2nd January 2004, early evening | Comments (16)

Last week my cousin showed my Grandma an abstract photograph and asked her to guess what it was:

Grandma
A clitoris
Everyone
*Silence*
Grandma
Oh no! I got muddled up, I mean a chrysalis!
Everyone
Grandma!

Ok, somehow this bothers you, when just a few weeks ago you were sending nasty postcards to your grandmother. What do you expect, you've poisoned her mind!

Aren't Grandma's fantastic, they are the unrecognised comedy geniuses of the world.

Mine wears a hearing aid, but even with it in, she tunes out of conversations, so we constantly have conversations like:

Grandad: "We're thinking of going and having a meal at that new restaurant in town."
Other family member: "Oh yeah, it's supposed to be very nice."

...ten minutes later, we've discussed everything about the restaurant and are on to something else...

Grandma: "That new restaurant in town looks nice, your Grandad and I are thinking of trying it."

Whenever anybody else mentions something shortly after we've talked about it the response is now: "All right, Grandma."

(N.B. Probably funnier in person, rather than written down)

Colin, my Grandmother is way beyond any influence I might have on her - and I say again, she would _like_ those cards :op

I must say that is very scarry that your grandmother would actually enjoy such things or say such things. Not to be nosey or anything, but how old is she? Is she younger than the average grandmother, because that might be it.

She's 83, Steven. She's not mad or anything, she's just full of fun and mischief. Lots of mischief :o)

That is good to hear, my grandmother is about the same age but she is kind of old fashion and doesn't talk like that.

My Welsh friend's Welsh Grandma's other Grandaughter got a new car. "You should see Siobhan's new Vulva," Grandma told all who would listen.

funny grandma you have there :) my granny loves to shock me too. by being "down with it". she tells me i should listen to eminem more. and the things she says? makes me feel like im the outdated conservative one. she's a scream.
